On Saturday, December 27, 2025, the Stockton Kings dedicated their NBA G-League Heroes Night to celebrating those who go above and beyond for their communities. This year, it was our distinct honor to see San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Grant receive this well-deserved recognition.
Deputy Grant’s commitment to public safety spans over a decade. Before joining the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office seven years ago, he served four years with the CDCR at Jamestown. Service, however, is more than just a career for Cody—it is a family legacy. Cody is the nephew of Tuolumne County Deputy Dave Grant, whose End of Watch was May 31, 2004. By wearing the badge today, Cody continues a profound tradition of sacrifice and protection.
Currently serving as a Motor Deputy, Cody’s passion for his work extends far beyond county lines:
The Police Unity Tour: This coming May 2026, Deputy Grant will lead a team of four motorcyclists to Washington, D.C. They will ride in the Police Unity Tour to raise vital funds and awareness for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
MotoTactix: Off-duty, Cody remains committed to safety through his business, MotoTactix. He utilizes his professional expertise to train civilian riders, helping them become more confident, skilled, and safe on the road.
When the Stockton Kings reached out to Blue Angel of Hope to nominate a local hero, Deputy Grant was the immediate choice. His blend of professional excellence, community outreach, and dedication to honoring fallen officers embodies the very spirit of "Hero Night."
Thank you, Deputy Grant, for your tireless service to San Joaquin County and for the heart you put into everything you do. We are proud to have you protecting our community. We see you, we appreciate you, and we RESPECT YOU!💙🖤
